1952

Due to the increase in demand for locksmith and mechanical services, the Municipal People’s Committee established the Radlje ob Dravi Mechanical Workshop, which we regard as the founding act of the Stroj company.

The workers of the newly founded workshop were keeping up with local demand, but were also constantly trying to expand the business. To this end, the company started to work in the fields of machining, machine fitting, mechanics and forging.

1966

The entire mechanical processing and locksmith departments were moved to the newly constructed and equipped production hall. Due to better working and production conditions provided by the new hall, it was possible to take on more demanding tasks. This process also demanded the establishment of professional, constructional and technical departments within the company. These departments enabled the beginning of the production programme, which covered the whole region of former Yugoslavia and also independently exported through trade organisations.

The company was a pioneer in former Yugoslavia in constructing welded casting frames, which slowly became the main product in its field and was well renowned for its quality in all foundries across Yugoslavia.

1978

This was an important year from an investment point of view, as the company had to replace all its used and out-of-date machines. Among new investments was a new metal bending machine for the locksmith department and some contemporary welding machines.

1986

The company started to focus on the production of more complex products and technologies in the field of their own products and inclusion in division of labour and assets. Thus, a higher level of cost effectiveness and production efficiency was achieved along with a more economical use of assets.

1991

This was a crucial time that was marked by the downfall of the country, and which brought about the inexorable truth that the safe haven provided by the market of the former country no longer existed. The next decade was hard, but the company, nevertheless, found enough strength and courage not to yield to pressures and found compensation for the loss of the big market in the more demanding Western European markets.

2002

The main building was renovated and a new information system vas introduced to the company contributing to a better overview of the business.

The foundation of Stroj d.o.o. was laid with the project of internationalisation of small and medium-sized companies financed by the Slovenian Ministry of Economy in cooperation with a foreign company.

The project was based above all on our competitive advantages and component assembly, which was an important step towards achieving the company’s key competencies.

The main guidance to the success of Stroj d.o.o. lies not only in measurable quantities, tons or hours, but also, and foremost, in its ingenuity, variety, quality and, last but not least, its ability to cover its costs.

Stroj d.o.o. is constantly investing in technical development and education in order to achieve all of its set goals and strategies.
